COLONEL KENNETH W. OHLSON

Colonel Kenneth W. Ohlson is the commander of the 10th Mission Support Group, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. He commands more than 1,900 military, civilian and contract personnel who conduct all base-level support activities, including law enforcement and force protection, civil engineering, communications, logistics, military and civilian personnel, and morale, welfare and recreation for a military community of more than 25,000 people. He is responsible for a base infrastructure valued at $3.5 billion that serves over 14,000 military and civilian personnel. He also directs the Emergency Operations Center during contingency operations.

Colonel Ohlson entered the Air Force in 1992 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Mathematical Sciences. As a career security forces officer, he has worked at the squadron, group, major command and combatant command levels in various positions to include commanding home-station and deployed security forces squadrons. He has several deployed tours to Southwest Asia, to include commanding the 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Prior to his current assignment Colonel Ohlson was the Chief, Mission Assurance Branch, Protection Division, Deputy Director Nuclear, Homeland Defense, and Current Operations, Directorate of Operations, The Joint Staff.
