Colonel Steven C. Burgh is the Commander of the 306th Flying Training Group, 12th Flying Training Wing, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. The 306th Flying Training Group provides soaring, parachuting and powered flight as character building operations focused on enhancing the airmanship and leadership of USAFA and Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets. The group also provides flight screening for all Air Force officers scheduled to enter Pilot, Combat Systems Operator, or Remotely Piloted Aircraft training. On an annual basis the 306th Flying Training Group trains more than 4,000 cadets and officers while operating the USAF's busiest day - Visual Flight Rules airfield (operated only during daylight hours).

Colonel Burgh received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy, in 1991. His combat experience includes duty as chief fighter duty officer, Air Tasking Order Production, Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom, and as a senior advisor to the Iraqi Air Force during Operation New Dawn. He was the Air Education Training Command Headquarters, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, F-22 program manager during the initial bed down of the F-22 Raptor. He has commanded an Operational Support Squadron and an F-15C Fighter Squadron and is a command pilot with more than 2,300 hours in fighter and trainer aircraft.

Prior to assuming command of the 306 FTG, Col. Burgh served as the Chief, Graduate Flying Training Division, Directorate of Intelligence, Operations, and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters AETC, JBSA-Randolph, Texas.
