Firefighters douse small brushfire on USAFA

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. --

Firefighters at the Air Force Academy and the Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Protection District extinguished a small brush fire on the Santa Fe Trail Aug. 15.

The fire burned grass and some trees on Academy property alongside Interstate 25, two miles south of the Air Force Academy’s North Gate.

Firefighters from the 10th Civil Engineering Squadron said the fire had been dowsed by 2 p.m. but they are monitoring the area.  

There are no reports of injuries or damage to any buildings was reported.
