1. Happy birthday and congratulations to the United States Army on your 240th birthday!

2. Since June 14, 1775, the United States Army has been the most thoroughly trained, combat-tested, and resilient Army in the world. Throughout history, the Army and the Air Force have forged a bond that emphasizes teamwork on the battlefield. Before the inception of the Air Force, the Army understood the indispensable role of aviation which began during the Civil War with the formation of the Balloon Corps in 1861 and continued through the formation of the Army Air Corps in July 1926. Since then, we have faced many challenges in the modern era that have tested our resolve. But, by working together, deploying together, and fighting together in the numerous conflicts around the globe, we have become the world’s greatest and strongest military. The United States Army is an inspiration to us all.

3. On behalf of the 10th Air Base Wing, Happy Birthday. May the Army continue to inspire all Americans to know that "This You’ll Defend."
