 Core Values Education is a part of summer Basic Cadet Training. Incoming Academy cadets are introduced to the Air Force Core Values of Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do. The four lessons, each 4½ hours in length, highlight the incredible trust that the United States places in its military and the absolute necessity of being good stewards of that trust.
Through the use of contemporary video clips and illustrations -- both good and bad -- we inspire basic cadets to know, live and embrace the legacy and the honor that is entrusted to them. |

The key focus of the Excellence Division is to provide cadets with opportunities for enrichment and practical application of their character and leadership education. This is accomplished primarily through four programs: the National Character and Leadership Symposium, the Falcon Heritage Forum, Cadet Service Learning and Basic Cadet Core Values Education.
NCLS 
The National Character and Leadership Symposium, one of the premier national symposiums in the area of character development, brings together distinguished scholars, armed forces leaders, corporate presidents and others to explore various dimensions of character and leadership.
The Falcon Heritage Forum is a semi-annual program held in the fall and spring. The event hosts more than 40 military veterans who are invited to participate on the basis of the chosen theme. FHF links cadets with the wealth of experience and heritage found in our nation's distinguished veterans and provides a systematic, yet personal, way for cadets to engage in discussions with men and women of impeccable character as identified through their involvement in military service to the United States.
Cadet Service Learning connects cadets with opportunities to perform community service in a wide variety of ways such as serving meals at homeless shelters, helping conduct fundraisers, tutoring schoolchildren with homework and giving up their spring breaks to work with Habitat for Humanity's Collegiate Challenge program. Cadets contribute more than 20,000 hours of community service each year through CSL.
