The Scholarship Division is the catalyst and strategic vector for character and leadership at the Air Force Academy.

The division's objectives are:

-- Establish a new realm in character and leadership development
-- Conduct rigorous and relevant inquiry to critically challenge established worldviews about character and leadership
-- Integrate character and leadership development programs across organizational and mission elements
-- Provide innovative instruction and research into the disciplines of character and leadership

Research

The 21st century presents a changing landscape for the profession of arms. The cultural, technical, political and operational challenges before us require new thought and new approaches. Scholarly research will guide the Air Force Academy in its development of officers of character.

Analysis

In developing a comprehensive assessment and research team, the Scholarship Division sets the standard for an integrated and diverse approach to character and leadership research and assessment. The Air Force Academy must proactively and accurately assess, analyze and refine the effectiveness of development programs; by doing so, the Academy can continuously learn and adjust to the demands of the 21st century.

Curriculum

The Scholarship Division is grounded in the foundations of scholarly excellence and committed to transforming character and leadership instruction to equip future leaders with the necessary worldviews and ways of being required to create sustainable change. Through advancing innovative instruction, cadets and faculty alike will transform the Air Force Academy's institutional boundaries, leading academia in the development of effective global leaders.
