Senator Lindsey Graham is a member of the Air Force Academy's Board of Visitors, having been appointed to the Board by the vice president in 2011.

Graham serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as a colonel assigned as a senior instructor at the Air Force Judge Advocate General School. He served on active duty for more than six years, including a four-year assignment at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany, from 1984-1988.

Upon leaving active duty Air Force in 1989, Graham joined the South Carolina Air National Guard, where he served until 1995. During the first Gulf War in the early '90s, Graham was called to active duty and served state-side at McEntire Air National Guard Base, S.C., as Staff Judge Advocate where he prepared members for deployment to the Persian Gulf region.
