New Media and The Air Force

As part of the Air Force's initiative to help guide Airmen into being communicators, "New Media and the Air Force" is available for download. The pamphlet, created by the Air Force Public Affairs Agency, Emerging Technology Division, should be used as an instructional guide. It is not to be construed as official guidance, endorsement of products or sites listed, nor is it policy. It was developed for Air Force Public Affairs professionals who offer guidance and counsel on anything communication related -- it's called PAG, Public Affairs Guidance. Please feel free to download and consult the book to learn more about social media and how it is being used as a new communication tool.

Basic Cadet Training Field Day is less than 2 days away! #USAFA Class of 2022, are you ready?
#USAFA has been one of the institutions that produces hundreds of graduates slated for training to become Air Force pilots. For the Class of 2022, 520 of the 1,170 men and women accepted into USAFA have the potential to become pilots. To read the story, visit http://airman.dodlive.mil/2018/06/27/finding-answers/.
"The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor." -- Vince Lombardi #MotivationMonday
How's your summer going? Our cadets are spending two weeks of their summer at several military bases around the world as part of #USAFA's Operation Air Force program.
The Core Values -- Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do -- guides the way our Airmen live and perform. This is also an important lesson we teach our basic cadets. For more photos, visit our Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/af_academy/albums
We couldn’t be prouder of our Dean of Faculty, Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost for a job well done at The Price Is Right. Way to represent, sir. Congrats! 🎉
We wish you a happy and safe #IndependenceDay! As we celebrate this day, may we take the time to remember our brothers and sisters who are standing watch around the world on our behalf.
Did you know #USAFA Class of 2022's motto is "Strength in Sacrifice"
The Class of 2022 is the most diverse class ever admitted to #USAFA. A few stats to consider: 1,170 basic cadets; 295 are women and 875 are men; and 397 are minorities. Welcome, #USAFA Class of 2022. Today is the first day of your basic cadet training, where you will be physically, mentally and emotionally challenged. Be strong! For more USAFA photos, visit our Flickr page https://www.flickr.com/photos/af_academy/albums
"Take 30 seconds to say goodbye to your families..." To the families and friends of #USAFA Class of 2022 appointees, are you ready?
In 2 days, the #USAFA Class of 2022 appointees will begin their basic cadet training. They will be pushed physically, emotionally and mentally. However, this is just the beginning of their four-year journey to becoming leaders of character. Class of 2022, are you ready?
For #MotivationMonday, we want to share General Colin Powell’s Rules to more than 1,200 #USAFA appointees who will in-process June 28 and begin their basic cadet training: 1. It ain’t as bad as you think. It will look better in the morning. 2. Get mad, then get over it. 3. Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your position falls, your ego goes with it. 4. It can be done! 5. Be careful what you choose. You may get it. 6. Don’t let adverse facts stand in the way of a good decision. 7. You can’t make someone else’s choices. You shouldn’t let someone else make yours. 8. Check small things. 9. Share credit. 10. Remain calm. Be kind. 11. Have a vision. Be demanding. 12. Don’t take counsel of your fears or naysayers. 13. Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier.
