9/6/2011 - U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Fall 2011 Falcon Heritage Forum kicks off Sept. 6 and will reflect on how the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2011, changed American government and society.

Speakers at the Center for Character and Leadership Development-sponsored event will include the New York Fire Department's battalion chief, a retired Navy SEAL, two retired chaplains and Air Force Academy officials.

The Forum will feature a welcome dinner at the Falcon Club on Tuesday evening, followed by panels and tours Wednesday and Sept. 8. A closing breakfast at the Falcon Club Sept. 9 will wrap up the event.

Two panels to be held in Arnold Hall Wednesday and Sept. 8 from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. are open to the base populace.

One is headed by retired Army Maj. Gen. James Jackson, who was commanding general of the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, D.C., during the 9/11 attacks, in Arnold Hall Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m.

The other is headed by 42nd Mission Support Group Commander Col. Joseph Milner, who was an executive officer for the Security Forces Directorate in the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.
