Lt. Col. Amanda J. Shumaker is the Deputy Commander of the 10th Mission Support Group, 10th Air Base Wing, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She co-leads 1,900 military and civilian employees across six squadrons, providing civil engineering, contracting, communications, force support, logistics, and security forces capabilities in direct support of the Air Force Academy's mission to educate, train and inspire men and women to become leaders of character for the Department of the Air Force.
Lt. Col. Shumaker entered the Air Force in 2004, receiving her commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Prior to assuming her current position, Lieutenant Colonel Shumaker was the Executive Officer, Directorate of Logistics and Engineering, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.
Lt. Col. Shumaker has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
