Colonel WILLIAM A. SULLIVAN

Colonel William Sullivan is the Commander, 10th Mission Support Group, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He commands a team of nearly 1,900 military, civilian, and contractor Airmen. Colonel Sullivan plans and directs all civil engineering and public works, contracting operations, human resource management and personnel development, logistics/supply chain management, security and law enforcement, force protection and fire response, emergency management, information technology/network operations and communications, lodging and MWR operations in support of 4,000 cadets and a total military community of over 25,000 personnel. Colonel Sullivan manages a $150 million budget and is responsible for a base infrastructure valued at $4.2 billion, encompassing 19,000 acres.  He represents the installation on strategic engagements with city, state and federal municipalities and integrates city and installation development initiatives. 

Colonel Sullivan entered the Air Force upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2000. He served in flight, squadron, wing, major command, center, and deployed J8 financial management positions, earning multiple awards at the squadron, group, MAJCOM, Air Force, and COCOM levels. He deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, including command of an expeditionary special operations support squadron.

Prior to his current position, Colonel Sullivan was the Director, Financial Management & Comptroller, Headquarters Air Force Reserve, Pentagon, District of Columbia.
