Brig. Gen. Nicholas Evans is the Vice Superintendent, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He serves as chief operations officer to the Superintendent. He is the principal coordinating agent for all command matters and supports the Superintendent in directing a four-year regimen of military training, academics, athletic and character development programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant ready to lead in the 21st century.
Brig. Gen. Evans received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999. He is a command pilot with over 2,400 hours in the F-16 and F-35, and is a graduate of the USAF F-16 Weapons Instructor Course. He has commanded at the squadron, group, air operations, and wing levels, and his notable staff and joint assignments include the Executive Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces, and Director of the Commander’s Action Group for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Additionally, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Military Strategy.
Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Evans served as the Commander, 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan.
