Major General THOMAS P. SHERMAN

Maj. Gen. Thomas P. Sherman is the Vice Superintendent, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He serves as chief operations officer to the Superintendent. He is the principal coordinating agent for all command matters and supports the Superintendent in directing a four-year regimen of military training, academics, athletic and character development programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant.

Maj. Gen. Sherman received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1995. He is a career security forces officer and seven-time commander who has also held a variety of leadership, staff, and command positions with assignments at the squadron, group, wing, center and joint levels: most notably, Deputy Director, Capability Development, Air Force Futures and the Principal Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense. Most recently, he served as Director of Security Forces, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia.
