Colonel Ahave E. Brown Jr.

Colonel Ahave E. “AB” Brown Jr. is the Installation Commander, 10th Air Base Wing, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. He commands a team of more than 3,000 military, civilian, and contractor personnel who conduct base-level activities for the entire installation, including security, civil engineering, communications, logistics, finance, contracting, chaplaincy, legal, lodging, medical, military and civilian personnel, and force support programs. The 10th Air Base Wing supports more than 4,000 cadets and a total military community of more than 58,000 personnel. He is responsible for a $150 million annual operating budget and serves as the Crisis Action Team Commander during all U.S. Air Force Academy installation contingency operations.

Prior to his current position, Col. Brown was the Commander at 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Test Wing, Edwards Air Force Base, California. He led 1,800 civilian and military personnel in the execution of developmental tests and evaluation on 53 highly modified test aircraft across nine mission design series. Additionally, he oversaw 143 maintenance industrial/support facilities valued at $2B and executed $3M in sustainment/modernization projects annually. Col. Brown has served in multiple locations around the world, to include the Republic of the Philippines, Hawaii, Spain, France, Guam, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, North Dakota, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, California, and the Pentagon. Colonel Brown has also deployed to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Crete, Sicily, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, Puerto Rico, and Masirah Island.
