Colonel AMY M. GLISSON

Col. Amy M. Glisson is the Installation Commander, 10th Air Base Wing, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She commands a team of more than 3,000 military, civilian, and contractor personnel who conduct base-level activities for the entire installation, including security, civil engineering, communications, logistics, finance, contracting, chaplaincy, legal, lodging, medical, military and civilian personnel, and force support programs. The 10th Air Base Wing supports more than 4,000 cadets and a total military community of more than 25,000 personnel. She is responsible for a $150 million annual operating budget and serves as the Crisis Action Team Commander during all U.S. Air Force Academy installation contingency operations.

Prior to her current position, Col. Glisson was the Commander, 86th Mission Support Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. She led the largest Mission Support Group in the Air Force with over 3,500 Airmen, General Schedule civilians, Non Appropriated Funds employees, and local nationals. The group provides services spanning military and civilian personnel management; morale, welfare and recreation services; security and force protection; communications and information technology services; contracting; and postal operations for the 86th Airlift Wing, 435th Air Ground Operations Wing, 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing, Third Air Force, U.S. Africa Command, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, U.S. European Command, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the U.S. Army. Additionally, the group oversees the Department of Defense's only Deployment Transition Center, serves as the local liaison for the Department of Defense Education Activity, Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Defense Commissary Agency, Red Cross, and the Women, Infants, and Children program. She ultimately provided community support to 55,000 Americans living and working across the Kaiserslautern Military Community.
