Chief Master Sergeant Michael W. Deiderich is the Senior Enlisted Leader to the Dean of Faculty, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Chief Deiderich serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Dean of Faculty on all matters and plays an integral role in supporting the 750-member uniformed and civilian faculty members, delivering over 2 million course hours and 31 majors across 23 departments to 4,400 Cadets annually. Additionally, he leads the ongoing growth of the USAFA enlisted faculty cadre, leveraging Air Force enlisted talent and providing Academy cadets with a diverse educational experience. CMSgt Deiderich also serves as a faculty
instructor in the Academy’s Department of Management.
Chief Deiderich enlisted in the Air Force in June 2001 from Tipp City, Ohio and completed Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He graduated from Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice technical training at Sheppard AFB, Texas in February 2002. He has served in a variety of positions at the squadron, group, wing, and major command levels. His extensive background in aerospace maintenance includes serving as Flying Crew Chief, Maintenance Instructor, Wing Plans & Exercises Superintendent, Lead Production Superintendent, Aircraft Maintenance Unit Superintendent, Quality Assurance Superintendent, and Maintenance Superintendent. His assignments include bases in Arkansas, Japan, Florida, Guam, Washington, and Colorado. He has significant Mobility Air Forces and special operations experience including deployments in direct support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
Chief Deiderich leads with a philosophy of “FMC” meaning that as Airmen we must maintain Full Mission Capability through three focus areas: Foster an ideal workplace culture, Master our craft, and Continuous improvement. Prior to assuming his current position, Chief Deiderich served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, 92nd Maintenance Group, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.
