SENATOR JOHN HOEVEN Sen. John Hoeven of North Dakota is a member of the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors, having been appointed to that position by the vice president in 2011. Hoeven previously served as the governor of North Dakota from 2000-2010. His private-sector experience includes executive vice president of First Western Bank in Minot, N.D., from 1986-1993, and president and CEO of Bank of North Dakota from 1993-2000. He earned a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., in 1979 and a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University in 1981.
