Commanders highlight list of Academy reps at Veterans Day events Published Nov. 10, 2009 U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The commander of the Air Force Academy's 10th Air Base Wing will be a guest speaker at two high schools this week, highlighting several local events in which base representatives are participating to commemorate Veterans Day. Col. Rick LoCastro is scheduled to speak Wednesday at Liberty and Discovery Canyon High Schools, while Col. Todd Zachary, commander of the Academy Preparatory School, speaks at Springs Ranch Elementary School. AFA officials will also be guest speakers at the following locations to honor military veterans: Skyview Middle School; Challenger Middle School; Ellicott High School, Colorado State Veterans Home in Denver; High Plains Elementary School and Prairie Heights Elementary School. Furthermore, the Cadet Honor Guard and Cadet Choir will be featured in the Miller Coors Veterans Day Ceremony in Golden, Colo., and the AFA band's ensemble Blue Steel will perform at Russell Jr. High School Nov. 13.
