The Academy's 34 consecutive Summer Sports Camp is underway through July 4.
Overall, the camp will have offered 20 regular camps, and 10 specialty camps, said camp official Nick Kiger.

At least 3,000 children 8 - 18 are expected to attend and train a variety of sports with Air Force Division 1 athletes and coaches, and professional-level, college and high school coaches from across the country.

"This year there will be campers from all 50 states, many of whom are return campers," Kiger said.

New to the camp this year are adult and youth figure skating, women soccer elite camp and the adult tennis camp.

"We're always looking for new ways to improve and grow our camps," Kiger said. 'Creating new camps and hiring some of the top talent in the country to lead them was a huge win for us.

Campers eat in Mitchell Hall and stay in cadet dorms.
