U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Class of 2020 will join the cadet wing on Acceptance Day, 9 a.m., August 9, at Stillman Parade Field.
Acceptance Day formalizes cadets’ transition from basic trainees to cadets fourth class.
"Acceptance Day is another celebration of the grit and determination of cadet trainees who successfully complete Basic Cadet Training,” said Brig. Gen. Stephen Williams, commandant of cadets. “It's a celebration for their families, their training cadre and themselves. By successfully completing BCT, they'll have learned to rely on the perseverance and teamwork that will allow them to tackle the Academy's challenging academic, physical, and military life."
More than one thousand cadet trainees arrived at the Academy June 30 for BCT, their first official military experience.
During BCT, cadet trainees learn basic military and teamwork skills, improve their physical fitness and learn to function in a field environment.
