25 staff sergeants at AF Academy selected for promotion to technical sergeant

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Thousands of Airmen across the Air Force have something to look forward to in the next 12 months: a promotion to technical sergeant.

Out of 8,246 staff sergeants selected for promotion to technical sergeant this year, 25 are assigned to the Air Force Academy.

They are Victoria Barger; Joshua Barriga; Conner Belew; Nicholas Blachowski; Terry Burk; Michael Chavez; Von Fernan Carlos; Kendell Diamond; Drew Hart; Trevor Killbreath; Kenneth Knobbe; Craig Larimer; Joshua Lawson; Taekausha Lomax; Artemus MaCayan; Marvin McNamee; Michael Mejia; Willoughby Nielsen; Breanna Perdue; Jane Purnell; Tino Rodriguez; Elsa Sholty; Kirsten Talamantez; Palemon Valdez; and Amy Wallace   

The Air Force published the names of those selected for promotion Aug. 24.

“This announcement is a testament to your superior performance as well as our Air Force’s confidence in your leadership,” said Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria, the Academy’s superintendent. “I’m confident each of you is more than ready to serve as a technical sergeant.”

The staff sergeants selected for promotion come from a pool of 28,358 Airmen who were eligible for promotion and not selected.
