10th Air Base Wing to get new commander June 18

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The 10th Air Base Wing welcomes a new commander June 18 at 10:10 a.m. during a change of command ceremony.

Col. Christopher Leonard will take over from Col. Brian Hartless at the event on the front lawn of the 10th ABW headquarters. Leonard comes to the Academy from Headquarters, U.S. Air Force in Arlington, VA where he was senior military assistant, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Installations, Environment and Energy.

This is Leonard’s first assignment at the Academy since graduating from the Academy in 1997.

Hartless has been leading the 10th ABW since 2019 and will be heading to Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, in Arlington, VA. The brigadier general-select will serve as deputy director, Resource Integration, deputy chief of Staff, Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection.
