2022 graduation events to effect traffic, services on base

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The U.S. Air Force Academy Class of 2022 Graduation is May 24 at Falcon Stadium. In the days leading up to graduation and during the event itself Academy residents and visitors will experience changes in traffic flow and availability of some services.

May 24:

Road closures are planned on the base as the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds practice their full show and in support of cadet commissioning ceremonies scheduled throughout the Academy. Closures include the Santa Fe Trail and roads under the Thunderbird practice area.

Graduation parade and pre-parade demonstration events will be held at Stillman Parade Field with access for ticketed guests only.

Expect heavy traffic, road closures and event detours

Academy residents are advised to enter housing through Pine Drive from South Gate Boulevard

Bicycle riding is prohibited 5 a.m.-4 p.m.

May 25:

Road closures and adjustments to traffic patterns are scheduled in support of guest arrival and departure for the Class of 2022 Graduation Ceremony. Graduation is open to ticketed guests only.

Academy residents are advised to enter housing through Pine Drive from North Gate Boulevard

Bicycle riding is prohibited 5 a.m.-4 p.m.

Closures and traffic pattern adjustments are subject to change. Drivers are encouraged to follow all signs and follow guidance from security forces. Academy services including the commissary, gas station, force support squadron agencies and the base exchange remain on normal operating hours.
