NEWS CONFERENCE: West Monument Creek Fire

Media are invited to a news conference about the West Monument Creek Fire response on Wednesday, February 28 at 3:30 p.m. The 10th Air Base Wing Vice Commander, Col. Dan Werner, will make opening remarks before Academy Fire Chief Ronald Prettyman, and Colorado Springs Fire Department Deputy Chief, Tim de Leon, describe their response. Representatives from Colorado Springs Utilities and other responding organizations will be available.

The fire began Sunday, February 25, and consumed 168 acres of Academy and National Forest Service land. There was no loss of life, nor loss of any facility throughout the response.
