Academy takes action against men's gymnastics team Published Sept. 4, 2014 By 010914 U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Since taking command, Academy Superintendent Lieutenant General Michelle D. Johnson has pledged to hold those who fail to live up to standards accountable with complete transparency to the maximum extent permitted by law.* Incidents over the past year have revealed a pattern of unprofessional behavior and underage drinking by the Men's Gymnastics team. The incidents did not involve sexual assaults or illicit drug use; however, they are not in line with the Academy's institutional values. In response, Academy leadership has taken appropriate action against the responsible individuals. The Air Force's Academy is also looking into allegations of inappropriate behavior by a basketball staff member.
