Happy holidays! Published Dec. 19, 2014 By Lt. Gen. Michelle D. Johnson U.S. Air Force Academy Superintendent U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Happy Holidays! It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming the class of 2018, starting a new semester and showcasing our campus to thousands of parents and family members. Yet, here we are, knee-deep in the holiday season and ready to roll into the spring semester. In August, I talked about my commander's intent. Over these past several months, I have been encouraged by our progress: we are focused on advancing our culture of commitment to our core values and climate of respect for all, by embracing our standards and holding each other accountable; we are innovating new ways to deliver our mission of educating and training tomorrow's Air Force leaders; we are refining our processes for efficiency and clarity; and improving our communications internally and externally. I know we still have work to do, but I want to pause and thank you all for the gains we have made this year. During this holiday season, I hope you take some time off to spend with family and friends. I'm looking forward to spending time with John and the boys. Take care of yourself and each other. Be proud of what you do every day and know that you are a valued member of Team USAFA and our great U.S. Air Force. Again, thank you for all you. I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring. From my family to yours, we wish you the Happiest of Holidays!
