U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The 10th Civil Engineer Fire Department will host an open house 11 a.m.-2 p.m. June 10 at Fire Station No. 1, 6202 Pine Drive.
Families, faculty and staff at the Air Force Academy, and Defense Department ID card-holders, are invited.
The event will feature fire rescue demonstrations, a weapon and military working dogs display, the Air Force Academy’s Wing of Blue Parachute team, and Smokey the Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog.
The open house is an annual event designed to highlight the fire department’s community service and educate event-goers about preventing fires.
Children can enjoy horse rides, an antique firetruck exhibit and a hot dog lunch, all free of charge.
