U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Firefighters from the Air Force Academy’s 10th Civil Engineering Squadron will be competing next week at the Firefighter Worlds Challenge XXVI in Louisville, Kentucky.
The team will show up an already hot contender to win the “World’s Best” title, having placed or set records in a number of qualifying heats and categories during preliminary competition.
The Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge obstacle course is the proving ground for teams competing for the title of World’s Best. It’s a timed, five-event exercise requiring firefighters in various categories to simulate firefighting and victim rescue while setting the lowest time.
The Academy is a world power on this firefighting stage, with a string of championships since 2002.
