U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- "So what do you want to do in the Air Force?"
Freshmen cadets at the Air Force Academy could be heard asking each other this question Oct. 24 at Major's Night in Fairchild Hall.
"[Major's Night] helps them make informed choice as they identify and select the discipline they're passionate about," said Maxine Fawcett-Yeske, the Academy's academic adviser.
Major's Night featured educational booths, exhibits, and cadet and faculty representatives from the Academy's 26 academic departments.
"Cadets are not required to declare a major until mid-October of their third-degree year [sophomore] year, so we encourage them to explore and ask questions as much as possible," Fawcett-Yeske said.
In all, an estimated 1,300 cadets attended Major's Night, including Cadet 4th Class Kadin Remsberg.
“The atmosphere was really good and talking to the upperclassmen was helpful,” he said. “I’m not sure what major I want and am still considering options.”
