U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The 94th Flying Training Squadron will provide up to 10 glider orientation flights to a group of Wounded Warriors on Tuesday, May 8th.
The squadron will partner with the Soaring Eagle Foundation to give the Wounded Warriors an introductory opportunity at soaring, a unique experience to fly over the Air Force Academy, and meet cadets.
As a flying training unit, the 94th FTS mission is to inspire tomorrow’s leadership through the dynamic experiences of soaring. The squadron performs approximately 17,000 sorties every year, providing many Academy cadets their first exposure to airmanship.
The flights will mark the first time that Wounded Warriors will have flown in Academy gliders.
