U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The 10th Air Base Wing has a new command chief: Chief Master Sgt. Bryan Tuman.
Tuman took over for retired Chief Master Sgt. Lisa Buckman last month as the senior-enlisted adviser to the wing’s commander, Col. Shawn Campbell.
“I look forward to challenging the men and women of ‘Team Ten’ to think critically as we support this premier leadership institution,” Tuman said. “Developing our Airmen is critical to maintaining America’s strength in air, space and cyberspace.”
Campbell said he and Buckman took part in the hiring process, independently but as equal partners, before deciding on a candidate. Tuman stood out.
“We knew he was exactly the right enlisted leader, strategist, communicator and Airman, for Team Ten,” Campbell said.
Tuman’s last assignment before arriving at the Academy was senior enlisted adviser at the Defense Department’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office at the Pentagon.
Wing vice-commander Col Robert Bearden looks for Tuman to continue the wing’s progress of modernizing the base’s infrastructure, while continuing the Academy’s legacy.
"I look forward to cementing the great progress the 10th Air Base Wing has made in serving our Academy with excellence,” Bearden said.
The mission of the 10th ABW is “providing the medical and mission platforms that forge generations of leaders, deliver military readiness, and provide full-spectrum community supporting programs with elevated excellence,” according to the organization’s web page.
