Army defeated Marine Corps 49-28 and Navy beat Air Force 33-18 in two wheelchair basketball matches on day 3 of the Warrior Games, May 14 at Clune Arena.

Army took charge early in the first half with an 11-0 lead that continued to build throughout the match. Army's strong passing allowed the team to score easy shots inside the paint.

Josue Barron led the Marine Corps with solid three-point shooting.

By the half, the Army team led 33-12.

Marine Corps' high-energy full-court defense countered Army's size advantage, slowing down Army's dominating center, Anthony Pone, who led Army with 19 points.

"We said we were going to play for 40 minutes, but ended up playing for about 33," said Army team member Juan Soto. "We'll make adjustments for next time."

Army won the game, 49-28. However, the Marine Corps stayed optimistic about their play overall.

"Everybody settled down in the second half," said Marine Corps' Anthony McDaniel. "The game was pretty decent for us."

Navy and Air Force played the second game of the night. Air Force pressured Navy into shooting free throws in the last two minutes by fouling as soon as Navy gained possession, but Navy overcame the strategy and won, 33-18.
