Airman pleads guilty to 2 drug charges

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. --  A former cadet candidate at the Air Force Academy Preparatory School pleaded guilty in a special court-martial here Jan. 29 to wrongfully using and distributing ecstasy in violation of Article 112a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Airman 1st Class Ralph Day was sentenced to six months confinement, forfeiture of $1,000 per month for six months and reduction in grade to airman basic but was not discharged as a result of the court-martial.

Day will serve his sentence in the Teller County Detention Center.
