Academy to host Warrior Games sports camp

Air Force wounded warriors are participating in a sports camp here through Feb. 2 in their quest to represent the Air Force in the 2013 Warrior Games.

This sports camp hosts approximately 54 candidates taking part in events including track and field, basketball, volleyball, swimming, marksmanship and recumbent biking.

Since 2010, nearly 200 wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans have competed annually at the Warrior Games, a partnership between the Department of Defense and U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Military Program.

The Warrior Games are a means for various service members to use sportsmanship to build camaraderie within the military community and celebrate their recoveries.
