Academy human performance lab tests, researches, trains, educates

The U.S. Air Force Academy's Human Performance Laboratory applies sports science principles to improve athletic teams and individual performance. The HPL also provides subject matter expertise on Air Force fitness programs and human performance.

The HPL tests and trains more than 1,000 cadets and approximately 100 faculty and staff members annually. Testing and training programs include:

-- Dual Energy X-ray Absorbtiometry
-- Sports Vision
-- Maximal Aerobic Capacity
-- Maximal Anaerobic Power
-- Running and Cycling Economy and/or Blood Lactate Threshold
-- Total Hemoglobin Mass
-- Hyperoxic Training
