Several members of the Air Force cross country team will travel to Boulder, Colo., for the 24th annual Rocky Mountain Shootout Oct. 3.

The Falcons will compete against several Division I schools from along the Front Range, as well as other local programs.

The meet, which will be held at the Buffalo Ranch Cross Country Course on the campus of CU, will begin at 9:15 a.m. The women will kick the day of collegiate racing off at 9:15 a.m., competing on a 5.8-kilometer course. The men's 8K race is slated to begin at 10 a.m.

The Rocky Mountain Shootout, hosted by the University of Colorado, is one of the longest running collegiate cross country meets in the country. The host Buffs have won the last 18 men's titles and the last 10 women's titles. Air Force's men have finished second four times in the past seven years, in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2008.

Select members of the Falcons' team will travel to Hays, Kan., for the annual Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational Oct. 10.
