Board of Visitors to meet in Washington, D.C.

The Air Force Academy's Board of Visitors is scheduled to meet in Washington, D.C., Oct. 1 to discuss a variety of issues, including diversity, a USAFA Metric Review and messages from the superintendent and Academy liaison officers. 

Members of the Board include Charles Garcia, BoV chairman and a 1983 Air Force Academy graduate; A.J. Scribante, BoV vice chairman and chairman and CEO of Vital Learning Corporation; Sens. Bob Bennett of Utah, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and James Inhofe of Oklahoma; Reps. Jared Polis and Doug Lamborn of Colorado, Rep. Loretta Sanchez of California and Rep. Nick Tsongas of Massachusetts; former U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab, professor of public policy at the University of Maryland; Terry Isaacson, the associate vice president of Arizona State University and a 1964 Academy graduate; Susan Ross, owner of Sierra Consulting and a 1983 Academy graduate; former Rep. Robert Hayes from North Carolina, owner and operator of Mt. Pleasant Hosiery Mill, Inc.; and retired Brig. Gen. Richard Tubb, a 1981 graduate of the Academy. 

Also expected to attend the meeting are Secretary of the Air Force Michael B. Donley; Daniel B. Ginsberg, the assistant secretary of the Air Force for manpower and reserve affairs; Lt. Gen. Richard Y. Newton III, deputy chief of staff for manpower and personnel; Lt. Gen. Mike Gould, the Academy's superintendent, and other members of the Academy's senior staff. 

The Board last met at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., July 24-25.
