10th CES Fire Dept. to host open house Published Aug. 12, 2015 By Madison Harrington U.S. Air Force Academy Public Affairs U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The 10th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department is scheduled to host an open house 11 a.m., August 15 at Fire Station 1 on Pine Drive here. Wings of Blue, the Academy's parachute team, is scheduled to land at the station at the conclusion of the event, which will also feature a 10th Security Forces military working dog demonstration, simulated emergency demonstrations, a free lunch and activities and giveaways for children. "We want to emphasize fire prevention and showcase the Academy's firefighting and fire prevention capabilities," said Mike Mater, an Academy fire inspector. "This is a great opportunity for our Academy community to interact with firefighters to see what we do here on a daily basis to keep the Academy safe."
