Academy supt. hosts 1st meeting with Colo. Springs mayor

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The superintendent of the Air Force Academy and the mayor of Colorado Springs met for the first time June 13 to discuss opportunities and concerns the Academy and city share.

Johnson hosted the meeting in her office at the Academy and thanked Suthers for the city's support. She said she looks forward to continuing the Academy's longstanding relationship with the city.

Suthers was elected mayor in May. Johnson took over command of the Academy in August 2013.
