Field Day marks completion of 1st half of basic cadet training

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The basic cadet trainees of the Academy's Class of 2019 test their teamwork and athletic skills during Field Day July 10, rounding out the first half of basic cadet training.

The basic cadets are scheduled to march onto the Academy's athletic fields at 6:30 a.m. to begin a series of athletic competitions, including a long-distance run, log relay and tug-of-war to determine the event's top squadron.

The event is scheduled to end at 10 a.m.

Basic cadet training started June 25 and continues through Aug. 1.
