Academy's water safe, says environmental report Published June 29, 2015 U.S. Air Force Academy Public Affairs, Colo. U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The water supply at the U.S. Air Force Academy is safe to drink, according to a Consumer Confidence Report published by the 10th Medical Group's Bioenvironmental Office, published June 1. The report contains information about drinking water sources at the installation, along with the amount of contaminant levels detected in those sources. On a regular basis each year, the Academy's Bioenvironmental Engineering staff samples the installation's drinking water to ensure it is safe for consumption, wrote Capt. Karianne Thomas, the 10th Medical Group's Bioenvironmental Engineering flight commander, in a memo to the Academy's population. "Annually, (bioenvironmental engineering) compiles all the pertinent information regarding drinking water and distributes it to the base population. The bottom line is this: the base water supply is safe to drink," the captain wrote. For more information, call 333-4825 or 333-5950 or visit www.usafa.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-150629-035.pdf.
