Academy Class of 2019 to arrive June 25 Published June 24, 2015 U.S. Air Force Academy Public Affairs U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The next class of U.S. Air Force Academy cadets arrives June 25 to begin basic cadet training, the group's initial indoctrination into military service. The basic cadets begin reporting to the Academy at 7 a.m., where they will be introduced to the standards they will be expected to follow during their journey to becoming Air Force officers. They will also receive uniforms and haircuts and be assigned to a cadet training squadron. Basic cadet training ends August 1 and includes physical conditioning, marching drills, uniform and dorm inspections and weapons training. The basic cadets will also receive lessons on the Uniform Code of Military Justice, First Aid, honor and ethics, and the Air Force's core values of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do. The Academy received 9,122 applications for the 1,250 slots available in the Class of 2019.
