USAFA hosts athletic director roundtable Jan. 15 Published Jan. 13, 2015 U.S. Air Force ACademy public Affairs U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The United States Air Force Academy's Director of Manpower and Personnel will conduct a roundtable discussion on Jan. 15 in order to detail the aspects about the hiring process for the Academy's new athletic director. Academy Superintendent, Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, will formally announce Mr. James Knowlton as the new Athletic Director at a later press conference at 1:00 p.m. Jan. 21. The intent of this roundtable is to provide background on the hiring process and go over government civilian hiring rules and procedures that may be unfamiliar to some audiences. This discussion will provide the necessary details about a nationally advertised job search for a one-of-a-kind position in the United States Air Force. General Johnson and Mr. Knowlton will be available for 30 minutes.
