Long Blue Line' gets longer with winter graduation

Four new officers were added to the Long Blue Line Dec. 17 at the Academy's fall graduation and commissioning ceremony here.

The new Air Force 2nd Lt.'s are Aaron Hall of Duncanville, Texas; Adam McMurray of Huntsville, Ala.; Christopher Morales of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Michael Husar, Jr. of Chicago.

Hall majored in mathematics and is now assigned to Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, for pilot training. McMurray majored in social sciences and is now assigned to Columbus AFB, Miss., for pilot training. Morales majored in environmental engineering and is now assigned to Minot AFB, N.D., as a civil engineer. Husar majored in biology and is now assigned to Vandenberg AFB, Calif., for space operations officer training.

The new graduates bring the Class of 2014 to 1,004 commissioned officers. Since 1959, 47,050 officers have graduated from the Academy

Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Michelle D. Johnson, Dean of Faculty Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost, Vice Commandant of Cadets Col. Dale Holland, and Academy Athletic Director Dr. Hans Mueh attended.

Husar, a Falcons Football lineman, was training for the Dec. 20 matchup against Western Michigan in the Famous Potato Bowl in Idaho and did not attend the ceremony.
