U.S. Air Force Academy Band to perform free concert for public, event will celebrate Academy’s 60th anniversary

The U.S. Air Force Academy Band will perform a free concert open to the public to celebrate the Academy's 60th anniversary 7 p.m., April 1, in Arnold Hall.

Tickets are available through the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance, the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce and at Arnold Hall. A limit of four tickets a person will be given; tickets are required to reserve seats.

The theme of the concert is 'Celebrating 60 Years of Excellence."

"The band has been part of the Academy since its inception in 1955," said Randy Doersch, the band's director of operations. "It's certainly been an honor to represent the Academy around the world and to the leaders it produces for our nation."

The concert will also feature the Cadet Chorale.

"It's going to be a great musical representation of all the Academy stands for," Doersch said.

Tickets may be picked up at the Colorado Springs Business Alliance office, 102 S. Tejon Street, Suite 430, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday; at the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce, 300 Colorado Highway 105 in Monument; and at the Arnold Hall Ticket Office, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
