USAFA celebrates the holiday season Published Dec. 6, 2013 By Academy Public Affairs U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY -- Several holiday events are planned here this month to give Academy staff and families a chance to reflect and enjoy the season's holiday merriment. At the Cadet Chapel -- The Cadet Chorale is scheduled to perform George Frideric Handel's "The Messiah" at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The event is free to the public and parking is in the Harmon Hall and Visitor Center lots. -- A Buddhist Bodhi Day Service is scheduled at 10 a.m., Dec. 8. -- The Catholic Cadet Choir and cadet a capella group "In the Stairwell," are scheduled to perform at the Academy's annual Christmas Concert, 2 p.m., Dec. 8. This concert will feature chorale, orchestra and a capella seasonal music. -- Daily and Sunday Catholic Mass is scheduled Dec. 9-22. -- A Christmas Vigil Mass is scheduled Dec. 24. At the Community Center Chapel -- A Second Sunday of Advent Vigil Mass is scheduled at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and 9 a.m., Dec. 8; a third Sunday of Advent Vigil Mass is scheduled at 4 p.m., Dec. 14 and 9 a.m., Dec. 15; a Fourth Sunday of Advent Vigil Mass is scheduled at 4 p.m., Dec. 21 and 9 a.m., Dec. 22. -- A variety of Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 have been scheduled at the Community Center Chapel including: Christmas Eve Caroling at 3:15 p.m., Christmas Eve Family Mass at 4 p.m. and a Protestant Candlelight Service at the Cadet Protestant Chapel, 7 p.m., Dec. 24. -- A Christmas Day Mass is scheduled at 10 a.m., Dec. 25. -- A Vigil of the Holy Family Mass is scheduled at 4 p.m., Dec. 28, the Holy Family Mass at 9 a.m., Dec. 29, and the Vigil of Mary, Mother of God Mass, at 4 p.m., Dec. 31.
