Tip of the Month: Watch your speed The speed limit on Stadium Boulevard is 45 mph; an extra 10 mph can make quite a difference when it comes to your safety and the safety of other drivers. If you slam your brakes while traveling 45 mph, it will take your vehicle about 87 feet to come to a full stop. If you were traveling at 55 mph, it would take about 130 feet to come to a halt. To put this into perceptive, the average human's reaction time is 1.5 seconds -- the amount of time it takes to realize you need to slam on your brakes. The difference in stopping distance traveling at 45 mph compared to 55 mph is about 186 to 250 feet.
