Parents' Weekend in full swing

Thousands of cadet parents are expected to attend the Academy's Parent's Day Weekend today through Monday.

These visitors are estimated to generate $9 million in revenue and $660,000 in sales tax revenue within the Pikes Peak Region during the event, a fraction of the nearly $899 million annual economic impact the Academy has on Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities, according to the Academy's fiscal year 2013 economic impact statement.

Parent's Day Weekend begins at 10 a.m. with the Parent's Weekend Parade and features the following events:

· Information Fair: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. today, Arnold Hall
· Lunch for freshman parents and their cadets: today, Mitchell Hall Dining Facility
· Airfield Open House: noon to 6 p.m. today
· Athletic Department Open House: 1-3 p.m. today at the Cadet Field House, Hall of Excellence at the Falcon Athletic Center, and Cadet Gymnasium
· Prep School Football Junior Varsity Game: 4 p.m. today, Husky Field
· Cadet Squadron Open House: 4-5:30 p.m. today
· Falcon Football versus Colgate, 1 p.m., Saturday, Falcon Stadium
