Academy's vice superintendent nominated for promotion to brigadier general Published Dec. 28, 2015 By Ray Bowden U.S. Air Force Academy Public Affairs U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. -- Col. Kevin Lamberth, the vice superintendent of the Air Force Academy, was one of 36 Air Force officers nominated for promotion to brigadier general by the president earlier this month. As the vice superintendent, Lamberth is the Academy's chief operations officer, the executive advisor to the superintendent and the principal coordinating agent for all command matters at the Academy. Lamberth said he is extremely humbled to be nominated for promotion. "I look forward to continued service in the world's greatest Air Force," he said. "I have many people along the way to thank who have been a huge part of my success: my family and those incredible Airmen and civilians I have been so fortunate to work with now and over the years." Lamberth begin his military career as an enlisted Airman in February 1984. He attended ROTC at the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1990. Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, the superintendent of the Academy, said Lamberth has been a superb vice superintendent. "Congratulations to Colonel Lambert and his family," she said. "His leadership has had a very positive effect on our Air Force Academy. This is another step in the career of a great Air Force leader."
