Air Force to host New Mexico in 2016 at Cotton Bowl Stadium Published Oct. 15, 2015 Athletic Communications U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo -- Air Force will host New Mexico Oct. 15 at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas, during the State Fair of Texas, according to an announcement from Air Force Academy director of athletics Jim Knowlton. The kickoff time and television network are to be announced as part of the Mountain West's television package. Air Force will be making its first trip to the Cotton Bowl Stadium since the 1959 Cotton Bowl against TCU, resulting in a 0-0 tie for the historic 1958 Falcons that finished 9-0-2. The Falcons will be home team in the game. "What a remarkable opportunity for our program to play in the great state of Texas which is such a vibrant military-friendly area and home to so many solders, Airman, sailors and marines," Knowlton said. "Playing in Cotton Bowl Stadium will be a memorable experience for our cadet-athletes and everyone associated with our football program. We're excited to reach populations of potential cadets we haven't been able to reach in the past."
